StormSight

Terms of Service

Effective: 2026-07-18

1. Service description

StormSight is a hail event detection and verification system operated by Harness for roofing and property-services businesses. The service ingests public and licensed weather data, fuses it through a documented confidence-scoring algorithm, and presents events with full evidence trails.

2. Not a forecast service

StormSight does NOT produce weather forecasts. We present NOAA/NWS/SPC forecasts verbatim. We do NOT predict hail in the 0-60 minute window. We DETECT hail events that have occurred. Severe weather warnings and watches in StormSight come from the National Weather Service via their public API.

3. Reliance disclaimer

StormSight is a supplement to, not a replacement for, official NOAA and NWS warnings. Decisions about life-safety, property protection, or canvassing dispatch are the responsibility of the customer. Harness and StormSight disclaim all liability for consequential damages, including missed events (false negatives) and phantom events (false positives). The confidence score is provided for informational purposes and is not a warranty of any kind.

4. Acceptable use

You may use StormSight for your legitimate roofing-contractor business purposes. You may not use automated access in a way that degrades the service or circumvents access controls; share your credentials; redistribute canvassing lists or PDF reports outside your immediate business; or use the service in any unlawful manner.

5. Trial and subscription billing

A new customer tenant receives one 30-day trial without providing a payment method. The trial does not automatically convert to a paid subscription and StormSight does not charge the tenant merely because the trial ends. To continue paid access, the tenant owner must deliberately choose a plan in checkout; the price, cadence, taxes, and renewal terms displayed there control that purchase. Each subscription covers one tenant and its users. The tenant owner represents that they are authorized to purchase the subscription for that business.

6. Renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. The tenant owner may update the payment method, change cadence, view invoices, or cancel through the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. Access may be suspended after a failed payment or when a subscription ends.

7. Data sources

See the data sources page for a complete disclosure of the public and licensed data inputs.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
